Research

We work on topics broadly related to radar geophysics and remote sensing of solar system objects.

Radar & radiometry

Our group uses space-borne, air-borne, and ground-based radio frequencies measurements, along with radar wave propagation and scattering models to characterize regional geology on Mars, Venus, and the Moon.

Physical Volcanology

Through the application of numerical models to describe magmatic processes, we study how differences in gravity and atmospheric conditions on bodies beyond Earth impact volcanic eruption characteristics and resulting landforms.

Missions & instrumentation

We provide scientific input for the design and operation of geophysical instruments (radars and seismometers) capable of conducting non-destructive studies of shallow subsurfaces, as well as deep interiors, of other solar system objects.
