Planetary Geophysics
geophysics for solar system exploration
We are the Planetary Geophysics group at Georgia Institute of Technology.
Much like Earth, other planets in our solar system have been shaped by complex geologic processes. Our group conducts geophysical studies the surface and shallow subsurface of other solar system objects to reconstruct their geologic histories at regional scales.
Exploring other planetary surfaces often requires a multitude of tools and approaches to tackle the challenge of inaccessibility. We primarily use radar geophysics and numerical simulations in our research. We are working on the development of scalable radar instruments for robotic exploration of planetary surfaces and subsurfaces.
